Thank goodness I still got to squeeze in time to post this one up. So many projects and schoolwork, so little time. At least I’m still having fun. I can’t wait to show what I’ve been working on!

Over spring break, I went with a few girlfriends on a thrift-store shopping day in the city. At first I was a little scared, since I don’t know if I will find what I want to find. After a while, it felt like a great adventure and the weather was on our side. I was able to find some treasures and spend time with friends that I have not seen in a while. :)

Since the semester is almost halfway done, I feel that I have more time to do some art for everyone. If you’re interested, just message me the following:

Size: 2”x3”($5), 4”x6” ($10), 6”x6”($15), 8”x8”($20-$35), 12”x12”($40-$55) *Larger sizes will be available later

Colors: 2 color, 3-color, 4-color, multiple color (add $5)

After finishing my Pokemon commission, I got inspired to make more fan art. I always favored Eevee even though I never got the chance to catch one in the games (I only got to play the silver version, and it broke a week after I got it). If only I could play my old Gameboy Color again, I would do my best to catch an Eevee. Because of this, I decided to pay tribute to one of my favorite Pokemon.

I know that Eevee seems to have a new evolution every version they come up with, so I included them as well. It was challenging to draw them because I needed to use different styles to capture their forms (I had a really hard time drawing Jolteon’s spiky fur). But anyway, I was able to finish this piece and I can proudly say I caught them all. :)

Finally it’s spring! Although it really feels like we hopped on to summer in my region, I’m so glad I’m finally able to see flowers sprouting from trees. Everything is waking up and starting to become green again. Although I missed St. Patrick’s Day, I still believe that this picture can be enjoyed the entire season. Don’t you?

I really love looking at flowers even though I’m allergic to pollen because they make the world beautiful just through their presence.

Have you ever seen a beautiful sky that it inspires you to paint? I recently did and here are some pictures of that glorious view from my window. So now, I’m getting into drawing things related to clouds and flight. I want to be able to reach that sky and be surrounded by all those colors. Maybe I should hang out with Pocahontas. :)

“Let Me Count The Ways,” “The Touch”, and “Adventure” (For Steve G.), watercolor, 6x6 (February-March, 2012)

Last month, my good friend, Steve, asked me if I could help him surprise his fiancee during his Spring Break visit. I gladly obliged, and found out some interesting tidbits about them while we hung out. They had a lot of interests in common and I knew my friend was deeply in love as I listened to his beautiful description of his beloved.

I did as best as I could to capture the romantic Renaissance, Disney’s Hercules/Greek, and Pokemon. I hope the happy couple will enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them. :)

Along with going back to my old roots (living in the library again), I’m trying something new. I’ve wanted to paint my room for the longest time and I finally grabbed the chance to do that. Although I made a lot of mistakes, I’m proud to say that I was able to paint my room. Plus, I spent a lot of time learning and bonding with my grandpa.

Hurrah! My school’s new library has finally opened its doors. Looking around many aisles of books has been inspiring me to create more. I forgot how many times my brain was saved by reading. I believe I should give back and maybe even volunteer at my local library. Being surrounded by books and having a seemingly endless day reading a book in peace would be nice.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about writing a book, or five. I’m opening up to a few concepts, but mainly keeping it as whimsical and full of wisdom like Dr. Seuss, but with a different feel. I have big shoes to fill, but hopefully, I’ll be my own brand of whimsical wisdom someday. What do you think? :)

I met with my good friend, Steve, a few weeks ago and gave me the privilege of making some drawings for his fiance. Here are some shots that I took recently and I’m really excited to see how all of the works will turn out when they’re finished.

I’ve been going through an art rut lately, and I feel like I can’t draw a thing. Sometimes (and only when budget allows it) I use retail therapy to cure this art rut.

Here are my recent purchases:

1. Cretacolor Aqua Monolith pencils - These were suggested by my art teacher for sketching out pieces for oil paintings. It’s a little hard to use since it’s woodless, but the results are great.

2. Watercolor papers, 140 lb. (Fluid, Canson, W&N) - Fluid’s watercolor papers have become my favorite because of their great quality and price so I make sure I stock up on it. This Canson XL is great because I get 30 sheets of giant paper that I can trim down to whatever size I need. I found this Cotman watercolor postcard paper and thought I’m going to dive into the postcard making business.

3. Kohl-i-noor electric eraser - This is another teacher suggestion and it works out great. There really are no pencil markings left after using this. However, the little eraser re-fills and batteries run out really quick if used constantly, so stock up on refills and rechargeable ones.

4. Maped sharpener - Sharpeners are a great necessity since I like drawing fine details. For a lot of wear and tear, this one is holding up pretty good.

5. Art book! :D - Rarely do I come across an art book at the clearance section, so I make sure I get it. This book has tons of great information about my preferred technique, and it taught me a lot of new things.

With these new materials, I’m heading back to the drawing board feeling more artsy and inspired. More works coming soon! :)
